The Significance of 22:22 for Lou

Great stuff!

Hey, let me get a bit Sue and Barry on you for a moment please as there are just too many ingredients for me to let it pass without comment!

Before we went to Centerparcs, Lou and I were stood in the kitchen chatting about coincidences or petunia oil or something and Lou momentarily became very numerological on me. He asked if I ever looked at clocks and kept seeing the same time more often than I'd normally expect, and whether I had pondered upon the possibility of this phenomenon holding any significance for me.

Don't think I said anything to that really.

Then he was just about to tell me what significance it held for him, but something happened and we were both wrenched out of Mystic Meg Land suddenly.

What's compelled me to tell you this now (apart from Covid-19), is that I was on facebook just now and saw that my friend had posted an article at 22.22pm last night (about Covid-19 surprise, surprise!).

I suddenly thought to myself "Ooh!! I must tell Di to ask Lou to tell her to pass onto me, the rest of his story that was cut short. What is the significance of looking up and seeing 22:22 for Lou? I want to know.

So I fired up whatsapp and noticed there was already a message from you there, and it had been sent at the time which I keep being badged by and holds a deep significance for me.

11:11.

This time presents itself on a daily basis and makes me feel like my Dad is around somewhere in the ether of the perpetually present. Probably spying on me or making sure I've not amok! 😂

So I guess I just wanted to know if the significance of Lou's 22:22 is similar to my one of 11:11?

Does Lou seeing that time on the clock face indicate that a loved one who has passed away is present? X

I Hold A View Which Is Diametrically To Nihilism Yet Simultaneously Accepts It

If nihilism is the rejection of all religious and moral principles, in the belief that life is meaningless, then I hold a view that is diametrically opposed yet accepts it.

A belief of the truth in nothing. The nothing within. The supreme power of the void that lies inside. The black hole that consumes all that enters its vicinity. Returning all chaos which was configured into information, back into chaos. Into its gut goes the primordial soup of equality, where structures and collectives are broken down to their constituent parts, every one and thing made the same.

But like a pond that ripples when a stone is thrown in, information of what just took place remains on its surface. What was 3D is now 2D. The universe we know can be a projection. A hologram.

This feeding frenzy by our fathomless furnace accelerates its gathering of mass - the more it consumes, the more it can consume - adding depth and breadth to its capacity, which holds more than we can ever hold, and knows more than we can ever know. Our celestial storage. Inner space in inner space. An infinite pit of energy and light which explodes once the time is right.

A view which accepts that all religious and moral principles have worth, and weight, and thus meaning. Meaning which should be consumed voraciously. Fed into the black hole to be processed by the unconscious. The individual resists the urge of analysis while they gorge, drawing no conclusions, forming no thoughts of their own. They simply focus on the act of knowing, of consuming only knowledge which seduces with the promise of leading to truth. And they do this until the end.

Conclusions and ideas alike, shall come to them fully formed, forged exquisitely in their hidden unknown. And once validation of the value in whatever emanates and escapes without being beckoned has been grasped and then realised by the 'I', it assumes its role in their Being.

Curing Autism Potentially Means No More Greta Thunbergs

I really hope scientists don't discover a 'cure' for autism. I feel like many of the guys I support enable me to reconnect to precisely how one goes about obtaining meaning from life. From their total lack of concern at having their actions judged by onlookers, to expressing their joys and sorrows in their fullest, without anything held back - this neurodevelopmental condition I'm continuing to learn is helping me keep in sights what it is that connects all humans on the most fundamental level. How we must all find or nurture a meaning for our lives which feels like it fits perfectly. One that we wear permanently like clothing. A second skin.
I love Greta's direct and sobering prose. She has found her meaning, and swathes of the world's populace is resonating in agreement with what she has found. Her autism has afforded her the everlasting ability to never become dissuaded from needing to reach her goal. The daily streams of social debris, the small-talk, the gossip, the rumours and malicious speculations, the personal attacks and outright garbage the majority of us are forced to wade through each day, trying our hardest to not become emotionally deflated by - these trivialities are like water that thankfully mostly run off Greta's back. Power's oppressive will is unable to steer her life course. The futile efforts by the patriarchy to smother her have only caused the world to learn of its enfeebled impotence. Her 'disability' has found itself appearing more and more like a super ability at this moment of time in our technologically developed civilization.
Her haters are right to fear her, as she poses an existential threat to the system itself. A system whose powers to persuade and convince people to accept problems intentionally and cynically created for them, so that they may buy its impoverished solutions - a system whose ability to steer her wants and needs has been in vain. A person like that is indeed dangerous to the system. They feel like a calling.

Letter to Matt Bourne - on claiming that nothing but self promotion can ever happen on facebook

Matt Bourne - It’s all about shameless self-promotion. Facebook is not a catalyst for meaning, nor does it inspire grace or modesty. It brings out the twats in all of us - especially me ;)

It's not all about shameless self-promotion, especially if you have nothing to promote, plus facebook doesn't bring out the twats in people at all unless you convince yourself it will, would like it to do so, or are looking for an excuse to be one.

Yo
u seem to have decided what the limits of facebook can ever be prior to even writing anything within it. "Facebook IS this....Facebook IS that...", painting a picture of Facebook as a tool which possesses only one function.

Is it not your personal belief that everyone's goal on here is self-promotion that is possibly causing you to feel cynical and find it impossible to accept anything other than self-promotion could ever take place in such a commercially mediated online space? Fair enough if you do, but for me it's not the case.

One interesting thing I've noticed is that many of my friends who are performers, who are used to experiencing the script whereby they get up on stage then share their skills, express their souls and passion for their art in the presence of an audience, which then applauds them at the end, making them feel good. A source of validation to feed the confidence that their choice of life direction was a wise one...... Many of these performer friends of mine seem to feel like wherever they are, they are permanently on a stage, even when nobody's around.

I think having a career path or vocation which has an end goal of receiving a positive reception from an audience, and then that positive reception being linked to you receiving financial compensation as a result -"The more people like my work, the more likely they will buy it and the richer I will become". If your life has that aspect to it then I think its only natural for you to see everyone else's activity on facebook through your lenses which have been cut from self-promotional glass.

I'm not a performer. I can't even stand the sight of my own face in my profile pic! plus I work in a field where I'm surrounded by people who society forgets about all the time, so speaking to people on facebook for me always feels like a one-to-one experience. I don't have a sense of an audience badgering me, looking over my shoulder with their judgments and criticisms. Each day I just go to work and then come back home. The world at large never learn of me. Just the way I like it.

Emotional Capital - But How Does One Increase The Amount That They Have?

Increasing one's emotional capital is achieved through the accumulation of value (in the form of meaning) generated by continuous emotional exchanges that become retained and co-owned by both parties due to their positive net worth.
Each time we engage with a someone, we should aim to ensure that the net sentiment each party takes away leaves them feeling good, or at the very least, better than they were before. If both parties agree that the sentiment each departs with had a positive net effect upon them, than it can be assumed said sentiment possesses value, in the form of meaning.
Positive sentiments generated in this way are then retained in the memories of both parties as they are meaningful which coalesce over time, leading to the eventual formation of a good rapport: a complex of active opportunities for engagement either party may tap into to instigate an interaction.

Each opportunity for engagement stems from a shared knowing (a single interaction both parties found meaningful and thus have consigned to memory). This shared knowing functions as a narrative node when the two parties subsequently meet thereafter (a narrative node being a point from which future stories can be written or shared together in many directions) and affords greater fluidity in communication due to the invoking effect a shared knowing has on both party's desire to create new, or continue on from pre-existing narratives.

In this way emotional capital can be increased.
In short. Be nice to each other.
